Trashformations – the creation of functional objects from trash

UP transforms what the general public throws into the garbage and creates unique home wares, accessories and lighting from the junk heap of the dirty south.

Examples of rubbish used - light bulbs, mardi gras beads, liquor bottles, old vinyl LP’s, plastic toys and baby bottles, blue roof tarp, MRE bags, rags, china, cable wire, salvaged wood, kitchen utensils, etc...I think it would be easier to name what we don’t use...nothing!

A common comment made about ourselves is that Mark can put a light bulb in to just about anything and Heather can probably make a clock out of everything...

Melt, Fuse and Form

UP is obsessed with melting things...

Whether “re-fusing“ mardi gras beads in a system of ovens and kilns to create recycled plastic sheets for forming into lighting or Kiln forming thru heat fusing glass into jewelry and house wares, UP love to melt stuff...living a tropical city where we sweat all summer, we often ask ourselves...shouldn't we be doing this is a cold climate using our work heat to keep us warm and heat out house...but you know what they say as to why we are all so crazy here in New Orleans – its not the heat it’s the humidity...
